NIOS Fees for Class 12 – The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is a national educational board that allows the opportunity to aspirants to appear for class 10 and 12 board examinations. The results and certificate issued by the board is accepted for admission into higher education institutions across the country and also for pursuing job opportunities.
Appearing for the examinations through the NIOS board gives you the flexibility of selecting schedules and subjects as per your requirements. You can study from home without attending a full time class room course and are free to pursue your work commitments in case you are a working professional. Students who may have appeared for nios class 12 board examinations in previous years and have been unsuccessful can also register and appear again through NIOS board. The flexibility in selection of schedule and preparation time is what makes NIOS a popular choice among students.
NIOS Exam Registration
You can register for the NIOS class 12 exams on the official website of the board. The board conducts examinations twice a year, and the details and specific dates are available on the website. You can keep a lookout for the registration date and link in case you are planning to appear in the upcoming year. Once you start the registration process, you can pay the NIOS exam fees online with selection of subjects as per your choice.
NIOS Exam Fees Structure for Class 12
The fees that you have to pay to register for the board examinations can change depending on the number of subjects you have selected and whether you have paid the fees before that last date.
- If you are a male candidate- then the registration fees that you have to pay to appear for NIOS class 12 board examinations is INR 2000 for 5 subjects. For any additional subjects that you choose, you will have to pay INR 720 per subject. For every TOC subject that you choose, you will have to pay additional INR 180 per subject. The processing cost for online application is INR 50.
- If you are a female candidate – you have to pay a registration fees of INR 1650 for 5 subjects, and additional cost of INR 720 for every extra subject, INR 180 for TOC subject. INR 50 is charged extra for online application processing.
- If you belong to any special categories – like ST, SC, Ex-Servicemen or Physically handicapped, then you have to pay registration fees of INR 1300 for 5 subjects, INR 720 for every extra subject, INR 180 for every TOC subject, and INR 50 for online application processing.
In addition to these standard examination fees rates, you may also have to pay late fine in case you are not able to register within a stipulated timeline stated by the board. The late fees are charged for 3 different slots that the board allows, beyond which the admission process is closed. The late fees charged are INR 200 for the first fifteen days after the normal registration dates are closed, INR 400 for the next fifteen day slot, and INR 700 for the final fifteen day slot. If you wish to register for the NIOS board examination after these dates, then you will have to appear for the next session for the examinations.
