Best Coaching Centre for NIOS Board | Learn Online with Recorded Classes
May 2, 2025The Delhi Government has launched a game-changing development initiative for students who have struggled to pass their Class 9 and 10. Students failing or receiving a compartment in Class 9 or 10 for two academic years up to 2024–25 can access their secondary education through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). This initiative was announced by the Directorate of Education (DoE) on May 9, 2025, and its purpose is to reduce the dropout rate and entry back into formal education. After passing Class X externally through NIOS, students will be able to re-enter their parent school. The timeline for registration expires on July 31, 2025, with the classes being held at various designated government school study centres throughout Delhi, and other platforms such as Niosclass also engaged to give specialized Nios coaching to ensure students passing their Nios course.
Education is a journey, and it may come with bumps along the way. For students in Delhi facing difficulties in passing their Class 9 or 10 exams, the Delhi government has launched an incredible opportunity through their Nios Project. The Nios initiative provides hope for students who may become discouraged, and is a flexible and supportive way of continuing and completing their secondary studies. Whether the goal is to study further or to get a job, the Nios Secondary Course provides students an opportunity to gain a secondary education qualification and possibly change their future career path.
The NIOS Project
The NIOS Project is a specific project under the DoE, which is aimed at students who may be at risk of dropping out. Students who enroll in the Nios Class for Class X can finish their secondary education, and if they pass, they can be readmitted to their parent school. This allows them to continue their formal education, which can lead to future avenues, and in this case, specifically decrease dropout rates for students that may struggle.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to participate in this project, students must:
•Be entering a session where they have failed or received a compartment in Class 9 or 10 for at least 2 academic sessions to 2024–25.
•Not have failed for the first time in 2024–25 and should continue their current academic provisions at their school.
•Not have your school leaving certificate (SLC) issued.
The students eligible for the project will be identified by the Head of School (HOS) that will inform their students about this opportunity. If you believe that you are eligible, please contact your HOS as soon as possible.
Registration Process
The registration process for the NIOS Project is simple but must be completed by your school:
- Step 1: Speak to your head of school (HOS) and let them know you want to take the Nios Secondary Course.
- Step 2: The HOS will register you online using the MIS Module used in Delhi government schools.
- Step 3: After you are registered, we will assign you to one of roughly 75 study centres based in government schools throughout Delhi, where classes will be held for boys and girls.
There is some uncertainty about the number of study centres and this may change based on enrolees. There will always be enough study centres to study facilities for everyone.
Subject Choices
The subjects in the NIOS curriculum offer you flexibility to select your subjects based on your interests and strengths. You need to select:
•Two Language Subjects – You can choose Hindi (201), English (202) or Sanskrit (209).

Transfer of Credit (TOC) Facility
If you have successfully completed any subjects in the CBSE Class X examination, you have the option to use the Transfer of Credit (TOC) facility for up to two subjects, which allows you to be exonerated from taking those subjects again, thus saving you valuable time and effort.
